December 16, 2000
Differ Ariake
Tokyo, Japan

TOKYO -- In what many are calling the best UFC Japan ever, middleweight champion Tito Ortiz and lightweight champion Pat Miletich each successfully defended their UFC belts with thrilling victories by submission. All four Japanese fighters on this card lost on their home turf, and only one fight went to a judges' decision. We will have a full report on "No Holds Barred" on eYada.com starting this Tuesday, December 19, 3-5 PM New York time (EST-US), including live and taped postfight interviews with the winners all throughout the week.

Frank Shamrock was in attendance, and entered the Octagon to tell the crowd, "I'm back. I'm taking all challengers. I am the champion." Nothing specific yet was announced about his return to the UFC. Wallid Ismail is also expected to return to the UFC early next year.

Highlights of UFC XXIX/UFC Japan will air in Japan on TV Tokyo on Monday, December 18. The North American pay-per-view will air Friday, December 22. It will also air on pay-per-view in Japan on Sunday, January 7, on JSky Sports on Sky PerfecTV.
